While on a shoot in the centre of Australia I was driving along in my hire car I happened to see this little character on the road. Knowing his time on earth would be limited if he continued to sunbaked on the bitumen so I stopped and re located him to a much safer area.
During the whole process he remained motionless but I could tell I had his total attention.
These lizards are quite small for those who have never had the pleasure of seeing one in the wild and despite their appearance they are not dangerous or prickly to touch.
To get this shot I had to lay flat on the ground in the red dirt and while taking my shots buses drove past taking tourist to one of the many lookouts in the area. I'm sure for the bus driver seeing a photographer face down in the dirt is a common one for this area and he was probably thinking "Stupid Photographer"
