Looking through the archives I decided to give this shot another go seeing I have developed my skills over the last year and I was able to get this shot to a point where I look at it and can nod my head thinking... yea I like that.

Shot back on the old 1ds Mark II on a sunset that opened my eyes to the limitations of digital capture where the light 10 mins after this went a glorious red and totally blew my red channel causing the colour to bleed out of control.

Same morning as this, but this shot was on Velvia 50 slide on the GX617 [link]

This is a 6 image stitch run through Photomerge on CS3 shot at 40mm.

I hear ya w/ the red channel issue. I tend to go in the the hsl and turn down the red luminance a bit which usually works and brings the detail back. Great capture here

Yea it is a bugger. Your right the HSL is one way also double processing the RAW files as well with the exposure turned down for the sky helps as well. I find the 5D Mk II holds the channel better than the 1ds Mk II did.
