Narrabeen Baths Fotoman 624

This is a shot taken on my new Fotoman 624 film camera. To give you an idea of the size of film this thing churns out, my standard 6x17 camera gives me a shot that is 6cm x 17cm (no surprise here I'm sure) the Fotoman 6x24 gives me 6cm x 22.5cm shot. It is massive.

My Fotoman has the 110mm Schneider Symmar lens which has the same width as the 90mm lens on my Fuji GX617 but it is just spread over 22.5cm in stead of 17cm. When I was at my local lab I had a quick chat with Australian landscape photographer Ken Duncan who was there at the time (he owns the lab) and he asked why I bought the camera when I could just crop a 6x17 tranny and get the same format. True but you wont have the kind of resolution as you are cropping a 6x17 tranny.

Any let me know what you think of the shot, I'm not totally sold on it but just wanted to list something for you all to have a look at.

Shot on Velvia 50 slide, 2 stop lee nd grad hand held as this camera has a serious vignetting problem with the filter kit attached.
