Artist's Comments

I shot this other morning while trying out the new (free) upgrade to the 360 precision head I got so I can angle the camera down in 5 degree increments. Worked a treat. The sunrise on this morning was blood red but I feel the tones with the warmer light opens up the shot a lot more. I'll leave the blood red shots to the Fuji GX617 that I also shot with this morning.

I don't really like the blues in this, but it was the light I was given on the day.

This is 7 shots at 50mm. Because the image was stitched in CS4 you can see the meta data of the shots that made up the panoramic.

Beautiful light, well captured!

So you make these the same aspect ratio as the fuji? Any noticable difference in quality/printing, like digital vs. film?
:iconmattlauder:
I make them the same ratio as a 6x17 gives you, but due to the focal length of each shot more ofter the angle is wider than what I can get with my 90mm lens on my GX617 or Fotoman 6x24 with the 110mm lens. I find the digital images have a lot more detail than the film shots, but film as a better ability to render colour, especially reds.

We often miss the small things in life as we rush through the day doing whatever we need to do to survive in this hectic world.
